Belinda Ngongo, MPH, Senior Technical Advisor – Health Integration and Gender Equity, Sub-Saharan Africa Belinda Ngongo has more than a decade of experience working in global health through the private sector’s lens. As a Global Health Leaders fellow, Ngongo provides technical assistance and program management support for all of Medtronic Foundation’s global health programs across Sub-Saharan Africa, and works to ensure implementation of best practices among programs and grantees in the region. For her fellowship capstone project, Ngongo founded Pan African Women in Health, a network providing leadership development support to African women working in health. Prior to joining PHI, Ngongo led BD (Becton Dickinson & Company) Global Health efforts in Africa where she was responsible for stewarding the regional strategy and forging public-private partnerships across a wide range of health initiatives including HIV/AIDS, TB, Cancer and Maternal, Newborn and Child Health. She was instrumental for implementing the company’s flagship program “Labs for Life” with PEPFAR and led engagements with the World Economic Forum, CDC, GBC Health, SADC Private Sector Constituency and Times Media. Furthermore, she managed BD’s Global Employee Engagement Program, which annually deploys more than 50 skilled based volunteers from the globe to support projects in emerging countries. Ngongo holds a Bachelor of Science in applied chemistry from University of the Witwatersrand and a Master’s in Public Health from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
