International Society for Telemedicine and eHealth (ISfTeH)
Frederic is Vice Executive Director of the International Society for Telemedicine & eHealth (ISfTeH), the international network of telemedicine/eHealth stakeholders, enhancing collaboration, partnership, and exchange of experience and good practice. The ISfTeH is a non-profit organization, registered in Basel, Switzerland and recognized as NGO in official relations with WHO (World Health Organization). In addition to running the daily operations and development of the ISfTeH, Frederic was also responsible for the organization of the ISfTeH’s Med-e-Tel conference in Luxembourg between 2002 and 2017, and he oversees the organization of the annual ISfTeH International Conferences (held annually in collaboration with an ISfTeH member).
He was a member of the Advisory Board of CRETECS, an interdisciplinary Center of Expertise for Care Technology at VIVES University College, Bruges, Belgium. He was also member of the Steering Committee that developed and started up a Professional Bachelor for Care Technology at VIVES University College, and is member of the Permanent Education Committee for this BSc curriculum, also providing occasional guest lectures on “Telemedicine/Telecare” for students of this BSc.
Frederic has been active in several other national and international projects dealing with technological innovation in the home healthcare sector (home automation, assistive technology, telecare, telehealth), telehealth service standards, ICT standards and open service platforms for active and healthy ageing.
