John Lovelace has been President of UPMC for You since 2007. In this role, he provides leadership, direction and administration for the services provided by UPMC for You, a provider-owned, federally tax-exempt, nonprofit managed care organization, which has its headquarters in Pittsburgh. UPMC for You offers coverage to eligible Medical Assistance and Medicare Advantage Special Needs recipients in 40 Pennsylvania counties through its contracts with the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services and with the Center for Medicare Services at CMS. Since 2012, Mr. Lovelace has also been President of Government Programs for the UPMC Insurance Services Division, where he oversees Medicare, Medicaid, and the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) of UPMC Health Plan, the fastest growing CHIP program in Pennsylvania. Mr. Lovelace also oversees UPMC Health Plan’s Individual Advantage, a guaranteed renewable individual product. In addition, Mr. Lovelace is responsible for compliance, finance and operations for individual products on and off the Healthcare Exchange.
Since 1996, Mr. Lovelace has also served as the Chief Program Officer for Community Care Behavioral Health, a part of the UPMC Insurance Services Division. Community Care is a provider-owned, federally tax-exempt, nonprofit behavioral health managed care organization headquartered in Pittsburgh that manages behavioral health benefits for more than 900,000 members across Pennsylvania. Mr. Lovelace serves on a number of national boards including the Medicaid Health Plans of America (MHPA) and the Association for Community Affiliated Plans (ACAP), of which he is currently Board Chair, as well as on nonprofit boards in Western Pennsylvania.
